OPENING CEREMONY

The opening ceremony will be held by the international team. We will welcome our scouts as one group and talk with them about the training in general as well as remembering our friend Baldur. Baldur and his engagement for friendship will be our leading example and source of inspiration during the week.

MORNING MEDITATION/PRAYER

Each morning we offer the opportunity for a few moments together to prepare for the day. Each country group takes its turn to offer an opening thought for the day, following which there is a shared silence. This morning meditation can either be prepared ahead of time or can be arranged during the COUNTRY MEETING on Sunday evening.

SHARING GROUPS

The International Team distributes the participants into sharing/discussion groups. Each group will have 8 members. There will be 15 groups. We try to ensure that all four nationalities are present. Each group will have 1 facilitator. It is essential to the group process that participants remain in the same group throughout the week. It is, however, possible to change once after the first session. Consult with the International Team before changing.

FACILITATORS’ MEETING

Every day there will be a meeting of the facilitators, which explains what is possible within the groups, supports the facilitators with ideas, methods, or impulses and reflects on what is happening within the group. Thereby giving all discussion groups the same chance to become a wonderful experience for all scout leaders.

WORKSHOPS

We explore the topic of the Scout Leader Training in Remembrance of Baldur Hermans in a variety of alternative ways. The workshops are being prepared by the 4 participating associations.

COUNTRY MEETINGS

The country meetings will take place on Sunday evening. We can learn about the background of the others from our own nationality, as well as deal with technical matters, such as answering questions in a smaller circle and your own language and most importantly to prepare the morning meditation of each country and the international evening.

SPEAKERS’ CORNER

Sharing Creativity. Every participant who is interested in presenting a project, an idea, or an activity from their own scouting tradition may do so at the Speaker’s Corner. Please ask your participants if they would like to present an activity or thought that they have which is related to Baldur Hermans, strengthening scouting, or building peace.

INTERNATIONAL EVENING

Finger food, games, and songs are key. Please bring typical food to taste specialties from your country, and some information about your association. Perhaps also some (small) flags to decorate. And prepare a game or song or two to share the fun of scouting at your home.

ALL EVENINGS

Come together at the end of the day. Sitt together, sing, chat, dance, play or relax.

PRAYER

We come together to pray. Meditative singing can help everyone to participate and to stay together in waiting for God. A Taizé prayer could be possible. The words are sung over many times, these prayers can gradually sink into one’s whole being. There will be songs in different languages, which are perfect for international gatherings.

TEAM MEETING

Both the International Team and the Organizing Team members meet daily to keep the training running smoothly. Here everything necessary can be discussed and agreed upon.

DAY TRIP

The day trip will take us away from our venue. We will have time for sightseeing, shopping and relaxing.

AN EVENING OF MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT

All participants are invited to create an evening of music and entertainment together. It is possible to present/perform a song, a dance, a game, a poem … The goal is to enjoy a colorful evening together!

ARABIC WEDDING

A typical traditional wedding party among scouts, with food and dance and a wedding couple… This evening shall be prepared by the scouts from the Holy Land during the week.

FORUM ON BUILDING AND STRENGTHENING BRIDGES OF PEACE

Forum on building bridges of friendship and peace. Perhaps with some guests. We are alive, we are awake and we are creative. We reflect. We come up with ideas. We enable the future.

HOLY MASS

We will celebrate the Holy Mass together. A team will be set up to prepare the Holy Mass during the week.

FAREWELL EVENING

Similar to the evening of music and entertainment, but the last evening together. We will celebrate the wonderful week that we had together.
