Introduction

Welcome to the upcoming exchange program that brings together 10 board committee members of tribes from CSAI and 10 board committee members of tribes (Stammesvorstände) of dpsg. The primary objective of this initiative is to foster a dynamic platform for these committee members to convene, exchange ideas, and cultivate lasting partnerships. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Berlin and the picturesque landscapes of Saxon Switzerland, this exchange aims to inspire, motivate, and facilitate the exploration of new paths.

The itinerary spans a rich mix of historical reflection, societal engagement, and immersion in nature. In Berlin, participants will engage with representatives of German society, visit a Holocaust memorial, and discuss the activities of their respective tribes. Drawing on their collective expertise, the committee members will advise each other on strategies to inspire young scouts, youth, and leaders.

The journey continues to Saxon Switzerland, where the focus shifts to exploring the magnificent natural surroundings. Here, the participants will delve into the principles of fair trade within the scout movement, forging deeper connections with one another. The program in Germany encompasses activities such as visits to the German parliament, cultural experiences in Dresden, and a closing ceremony in Saxon Switzerland with a glimpse into the future, anticipating the exchange program in Israel in 2025.

Moreover, there is allocated free time in Berlin for relaxation and shopping, ensuring a well-rounded experience. Join the event and be part of an exciting opportunity for board committee members to embark on a meaningful exchange, collaboration, and cultural enrichment journey.

Content and Aim

The purpose of this exchange is for the board committee members of tribes to meet and exchange ideas. The aim is to inspire and motivate each other and to establish new lasting partnerships between tribes of CSAI and dpsg.

In Berlin, we will meet with representatives of German society and visit a Holocaust memorial. We will exchange ideas and perspectives on the activities of tribes of CSAI and dpsg. The committee members can advise each other using their expertise to inspire young scouts, youth, and leaders.

In Saxon Switzerland, we want to explore the vast and magnificent nature. We want to explore fair trade in the scout movement and experience nature in Saxon Switzerland.

The board committee members of the tribes will have the opportunity to get involved with each other and explore new paths together.

Program in Germany

Day 1: Arrival in Berlin: Get to know each other (Scouting in Israel and Germany)

Day 2: Visiting the Holocaust Memorial: Looking back at history and creating peace today, experience Berlin

Day 3: Visit the German parliament (Reichstag), meet representatives of German society and free time

Day 4: It’s all about inspiring and motivating each other and establishing new partnerships

Day 5: Travel from Berlin to Saxon Switzerland with a stop in the Spreewald region

Day 6: Saxon Switzerland: Experience nature and learn about fair trade

Day 7: Saxon Switzerland: Visit of the Saxon Bastei

Day 8: Trip to Dresden: Culture and Society Experience

Day 9: Closing ceremony in Saxonian Switzerland and outlook to Israel 2025

Day 10: Departure

(Remark: There will be free time to relax and go shopping in Berlin as well)

Costs:

The cost of this event for the German participants will be about 390 €. This includes the preparation meeting (excluding transportation), all meals, accommodation, transportation from Aachen to Berlin and back, transportation during the program, and entrance fees.

The cost of this event for the Israeli participants will be about 280 €. This includes all meals, accommodation, transportation from Berlin airport and back, transportation during the program, and entrance fees. Excluded flight from Tel Aviv to Berlin and return.

The closing date for applications is 31.03.2024.

Preparation meeting for German participants:

The preparation meeting will be from 24 to 26 May 2024.
